Sunday Reads And Listens...How Far Ahead is Nvidia and What It Means For Venture Capital and Entrepreneurs

Good morning everyone.

For people interested in our fund Social Leverage and what we do, we share a weekly newsletter with our LP’s. You can read this weeks and sign up here.

Onward…

Two great investors - Bill Gurley and Brad Gerstner started a podcast together and though I do not listen to venture/technology podcasts, this is one I can’t ignore.

I am a fan of Brad who has had a great track record as a crossover investor in public and private markets and can explain things clearly.

This week it was all about the big cap tech names ( $TSLA $NVDA $GOOG, $AAPL, $MSFT) You can listen on Spotify or here on Youtube:

Switching to venture capital, Packy McCormick goes through the data which shows that venture capital is the best asset class there is and that venture capital rocks.

I chimed into Packy’s Twitter thread that while it is hard to argue with the data that venture capital rocks, venture capitalists mostly suck :).

I caught a couple of clips of Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang that created incredible clarity for non technical people like me that have so excited about this era, despite being technically a knucklehead.

Next up he explains today’s stock price but the decisions the company made over ten years ago.

Now that you have seen the clips, you can understand why my friend Moichael, who ran Goldman internet research for 20 yearsd is spending so much of his time writing about AI and Nvidia. Mike’s piece on the reighn still ahead for Nvidia is here.

Jensen’s comments along with those from Michael Parekh and Gerstner continue to get me more comfortable about this AI supercycle/wave. Building a company that looks like a technology company and has technology margins is now possible for people like me that have great ‘domain experience’ but no ability to code.

Have a great Sunday.

I am off for a ride.
