Congratulations to Portfolio Company Apptentive on Being Acquired

Good morning 

I am off to New York this afternoon to work for rest of the week to visit with portfolio founders and meet some companies.

We had more great portfolio news last week (ChartIQ was acquired as well). Our portfolio company Apptentive (Fund 1) was acquired. Apptentive was founded by Robi Ganguly in Seattle, back in 2013. His enthusiasm and determination to build a great company and business has been infectious from day 1.

At the dawn of Web 2, and social media, a big theme of ours at Social Leverage was investing in customer support businesses.  We invested in Tweetdeck (acquired by Twitter), Buddy Media (acquired by Salesforce), Kustomer (acquired by Facebook) and Apptentive. With the acquisition of Apptentive, the theme has proven to be a big winner for everyone.

Robi has been forever passionate about giving customers a voice and spreading customer love and Apptentive did just that.  They were acquired by Alchemer.com which is a much larger customer support business and platform.

Great companies and businesses take a long time to build and I am really happy for Robi and the team.
