I have always thought that Stocktwits should have a home in New York. The idea location would be near Union Square and SOHO, where I like to hang out as do so many others that like to invest, trade, speculate and of course be degenerates (in a good way).
Our home/space would be more street level than office as the alpha is in the streets.
What better place for alpha than next to Fred Wilson and Union Square Ventures!
I mentioned yesterday that I had breakfast with my friend Fred Wilson…
We were at his new restaurant at 817 Broadway, called Leon’s. I did not write about it because it was none of my business.
But, he wrote about it yesterday, so it is everyone’s business and I am sure it will be popular.
Fred would like to hang with you…
I plan to use Leon's the way I used Mailino and before that The Coffee Shop and Taralucci. I hope the NYC startup sector in the Union Square area does the same and we can recreate the vibe we had going at those spots before the pandemic came along and messed things up.
Leon's is open every day of the week from 8am to 11pm. However, they will be closed on Mondays until December 16th so they can tweak a few things without impacting customers.
I hope to bump into you all at Leon's in the coming months and years.
I love Fred. I love his wife Joanne. I would like to run into them more often when I am in New York, so I imagine I will go there often when I am in town.
But I have different tastes and I would never let anyone from a late stage growth fund near my club!
Fred loves competition.
I think Fred will have overflow and I think it will be smart to cozy up to Leon’s and ‘spite’ away the investors, speculators, traders, degenerates and founders that get bored with that ‘venture’ crowd.
I texted Fred about this last night and he responded with an ‘lol’.
I think that means he will invest!
If you know how to help me find our ‘spite’ space for ‘Howie’s Degenerate Cafe and House of Memecoins’, hit me up. And yes, there will be falafel and very few healthy food choices.
If I can figure this out I will let everyone invest through a ‘Howie Coin’ which I imagine I can spin up on Spot.dog our newest Stocktwits partner.
