It Pays To Have A Travel Agent...

Planes, trains and automobiles - Midjourney

Good morning…

I am home in Phoenix after another long stint on the road.

Ellen and I watched 'Still’ last night, the Michael J. Fox movie and it was excellent.

I had a travel first the other day…

I got to the ticket computer at La Guardia and realized my flight was leaving from Newark.

I was on my way to Columbia, Missouri to do a private screening of our documentary ‘This Is Not Financial Advice’, which is NOT an easy place to get to, and realized my mistake.

There was no way to get to Newark in time so I resigned to just catching a flight home to Phoenix. I pinged Michelle, an awesome travel agent that helps me plan the complicated cycling trips, mostly for her to laugh at me, and she found me a flight to St.Louis that would get me to the screening if I rented a car and drove two hours.

Because I book almost all my travel myself, using Google Flights and within 24 hours of flying, my other ticket was refundable and off I went with Michelle’s plans. I was living my own planes, trains, and automobiles and Columbia, MO with an hour to spare.

In the hotel lobby I ran into my pal Jim O’Shaughnessy whose son Patrick was hosting the three day Capital Camp (which is an awesome event with incredibly motivated people). Jim was dialing me from 20 feet away to ask me if I made it because he had just seen the tweet about me missing my flight, and we had a few laughs. It was Jim's 63rd birthday…

I am excited for June 10 and the world premiere of the documentary at Tribeca film festival. The private screening was the first time I have seen the whole movie with a live audience and people really liked it.

Have a great Friday.
