Staying Optimistic And Hopeful In An Era Of Extreme Bullshit! So Much Talent and Creativity To Enjoy...

Good morning from Coronado.

As much as I like to travel, it is great to be home, especially when home is Coronado.

I love my work and routine and I am already back in it writing here at 4 am.

I had very little screen time the last few weeks, so I worked much less than I expected. I mostly wrote in notepads (I can barely now read what I wrote) and managed a short to-do list that went mostly unchecked.

As Ellen and I quickly approach 60, we freak out less. If the kids are OK, we are OK. As Jon Stewart riffed in a soccer reference (I will share the video below)…’we are on injury time. It could always be worse. Our job is to make sure Rachel and Max can and will call us first if there is ‘trouble’ and to provide ‘wisdom’ from what our own eyes and ears have seen and heard…our experiences.

I was sitting on the couch with Rachel last night and flipped on YouTube because it serves me the best mix of what I might like to see. I knew she would giggle at this hilarious and genius video I watched alone while Ellen slept the night before.

Can You Climb The Highest Tour De France Mountain On a Kid’s Bike

The picture I shared yesterday of the cyclist eating a slice of pizza, was noticed by one of the creators/founders of the media/cycling company who were the ones that were giving away 150 pizzas at the Tour De France finish line. Here is their very popular YouTube channel. We connected via DM and I am hoping to brainstorm on a few ideas with them in the coming months.

Re the Jon Stewart video I referenced above…he shared some wisdom with a 19 year old who asked ‘How Do You Maintain Hope and Levity’ in these tough times?

Talk about teeing it up for easy laughs…Jon leaned in and offered many pearls of wisdom.

A fave of mine and something the best comedians have always been the best at is calling out ‘bullshit’ and as Jon says ‘we just want someone not to bullshit you when what you know you see and hear is what you’ve seen’

Have a great day.
