Alexa.com – definitely addictive when things are going your way
I know why Alexa.com is so addictive . It reminds me of looking at stock charts.
There are uptrends, downtrends, breakdowns, breakouts. Like the people that move stocks with buys and sells, so do Alexa trends switch with eyeballs.
I am not the only one with the problem. They did not create Alexaholic for nothing!
That said, I was reading a post by Michael Arrington at Tech Crunch about Delicious , a recent Yahoo acquisition. The Alexa chart is not one you would buy. I have to imagine that Yahoo is not happy looking at this chart (Note – like a stock chart that looks bad – they will look to all sorts of other metrics that look better – to provide comfort). As little faith as I have in the absolute ranking or numbers on Alexa, I trust the trends.
On the other side, GolfNow has an Alexa chart I would be buying . In size.
Not “counting my chickens” Fred , just dreaming.
