So the iPad is out.
Now what Steve? What have you done for us lately?
While I have not tested an iPad, I now have a pretty damn good picture of what to expect from the blogosphere.
It is maddening to hear the whining about what the iPad does NOT have.
Two things we should be grateful for these days…the product does not rely on Microsoft software and Alan Greenspan is not endorsing it.
My favorite post on the iPad came from Dasan this weekend.
Microsoft? Where the hell are they in all this? Bill Gates was predicting tablets would dominate the future a decade ago. What did they do about it? Jack-squat. Instead, they just kept milking their windows monopoly. That fat cow is getting old now. Will Microsoft become marginalized – forever associated with boring work excel documents and word-processing? Wake up, Redmond!

Wwhile Steve Job’s adds value to the computing universe, Elmer Fudd is blithering on about our financial crisis :
Mr. Greenspan said that he sat through innumerable meetings at the Fed with crack economists, and not one of them warned of the problems that were to come. By Mr. Greenspan’s logic, anyone who might have foreseen the housing bubble would have been invited into the ivory tower, so if all those who were there did not hear it, then no one could have said it.
As a nation, we cannot afford to live with Mr. Greenspan’s way of thinking. The truth is, he should have seen what was coming and offered a sober, apolitical warning. Everyone would have listened; when he talked about the economy, the world hung on every single word.
Maybe it is us stock guys that just are happy with ANY progress. It could be that we have been tied to Microsoft and other’s platforms all these years. As a group we have been tortured with closed systems and proprietary and overpriced software all these years.
Glad to be a stock guy and an $AAPL fanboy on days like today.
