The US internet giants are in a war to corner our attention but the Chinese internet giants are closer to cornering attention AND utility.

I’m on my way back from a week in Hong Kong. Unfortunately I was crushed by the flu for a few days and was not at my best in meetings.

I learned so much listening to FinTech founders gathered from around Asia and many Asian investors and fund managers.

I return home this time convinced that Tencent and Alibaba are in a war to own both attention and utility. Their FinTech arms are massive. This article does a good job describing what I have been seeing and hearing all week.

I’m going to add both to my portfolio as I dropped PayPal last week. If the stocks drop 10-20 percent I am comfortable adding more.
