Onward…
For the last few years I have been writing about the lack of great marketers. Since web 2.0 and ZIRP began, engineering, coding your way to growth and growth hacking have been the terms that dominated startup land. You had to learn how to code.
Now that AI and ‘vibe coding’ proliferate and customer acquisition costs explode and markets shrink (tariffs, trade wars), we lack true strategists and great marketers at way too many companies. We need marketers.
The good news for those with passion and instinct for a career in marketing is the tools are getting easy to use and insanely good.
This ‘Sublime App’ looks very cool from the comments in my Twitter feed.
Obviously Chat GPT research and image creation are also fantastic.
The one thing I was told about AI as it proliferated via Chat GPT is it could not be funny.
Because of the image features now in AI, AI is really funny.
Here are a few ‘prompt’ images that have made me laugh the last few days…

The old people in charge will tell you that it’s time to go back to the factory and manage the robots.
They are wrong, but you would be wrong to assume that ‘deglobalization’ and trade wars are going away anytime soon.
The world is shrinking, markets will be shrinking, margins for most businesses and TAM for most businesses you thought were great will be shrinking.
You have a chance to be ahead of this curve is you have marketing and sales skills.
I think everyone under 30 knows this is the best time to be creative.
There is no higher margin business for a single person company that sells creativity. There is probably no better career for self satisfaction than being creative, or a creator.
Have a great Friday.
