The Best Financial Blogs ? The Perfect List? The Best System?

I was asked today if I thought this was a good list of financial bloggers . Other than the fact that I am off it :) it seems o.k., but really, there is no best list. There is not even a good list. A list provides a shortcut to further research – IF the recommendation comes from credible resources. I saw that this site in question was written up in Barron’s and I recognized a few of the blogs, but “The Twenty BEST Financial Blogs” – WHATEVER.

It is amazing the amount of financial and market writers available to read. Really – simply amazing.

There is no holy grail, no perfect list, no perfect protfolio, no guru, no simple answers to beating the market over time. Those that can do it for any period of time and have good money management skills – find wealth beyond their dreams. They deserve it. it is the god damn hardest thing to do. Period. I have not found it. I have not done it.

My hope is that writing keeps me focused on what makes me my best – doing less, standing back and thinking bigger picture and trusting my instincts once I have put in the hard work.

The first thing I check when I visit a new financial blog is their blogroll. Who do they like? Is it too long, too narrow, too short….

I have taken great care building my FINANCIAL blogroll, but in the end, it is mine. It works really well for me. More important, it will change. Five years ago it would be all Cramer. Today, I can’t stand the guy. Too overexposed. Too noisy.

Today, I am about patience and doing less and less reading and less lists and more personal exploration. Nobody can tell me what to read. I need to find it, try it, and see if the content fits with MY overall plan.

No two persons goals and plans are the same so trust your gut and build your own blogroll if not your own blog.

PS – I do know one thing. THE BEST internet stock market show is coming October 1, 2006.
