Fund II Portfolio Company Kustomer Acquired By Facebook Parent Company Meta
We had a big win at Social Leverage today as Facebook closed the acquisition of Kustomer a fund II portfolio company. We invested back in 2016.
Facebook initially reached an agreement to acquire Kustomer in November of 2020, but the deal was subject to an FTC review, and a separate approval by authorities in the U.K. and the E.U.
We (Social Leverage) are in the business of seeding companies and helping. Venture investments take many years to unfold. Kustomer started this journey in 2015, but the founders Brad and Jeremy go back to grade 7 with Gary.
It feels great to see the founders get such a great win. They built an incredible product, an amazing company and business and Facebook will be a much better ecommerce business because of it.
Social Leverage is not an institutional firm. Almost all of our LP’s are individual investors which makes these wins extra special.
Outside of the founders and employees, it is exciting to return a lot of capital to our LP’s. They take the risk and they are the reason we get to do what we do.
Onwards…
