Goodbye Kyoto...Hello Tokyo
A quiet, clean, miracle of culture, food, history, weirdness, and Toyotas not Tesla’s
Good morning from the bullet train on our way to Tokyo from Japan.

I was not planning on writing this week but the wifi on the bullet train is fast and free for the next hour.
Kyoto was fantastic.
The Alpaca summit was great. Yoshi and I closed out the conference with a fun conversation about investing and the degenerate economy. Yoshi recounted how he chased me down at our 2017 Stocktoberfest in New York to pitch me (a photo on the right which he shared)…

Yoshi set us up at the impossible to get into Monk Pizza which has 14 seats and a Netflix episode. He and Monk’s owner and chef chef Yoshi (center) went to school together.

I have not been to Japan since the 1990’s - pre internet.
Post internet, Japan is much easier for sure. A joy.
It is a quiet, clean, miracle of culture, food, history, weirdness, and Toyota’s not Tesla’s.
Of course lurking behind many quiet sliding door storefronts is ‘the degenerate economy’ like everywhere else.

More soon…
