Grass Clippings Par 3 High Stakes Night Golf Is Exciting, TGL Not so Much

A Light Touch of Technology Outside is Much Better Than Too Much Technology and Production Inside

I watched a little of The TGL the other day while I was working out. It was not bad, but it was not good. Hundreds of millions have been invested so it will be crammed down people’s throats until you stop watching. There is such a thing as TOO MUCH TECHNOLOGY when it cones to sports and leave it up to the PGA which wrecked the PGA to think ‘money’ and technology is the solution to everything.

The explosion of YouTube golf has proved that we want to see great golfers - who are incredible athletes and performers, not entertainers - in their natural habitat…OUTSIDE.

Here is what ‘low tech’ high skilled, high stakes professional golf looks like at night at Grass Clippings:

Here is last weeks one hour (professional and inexpensively edited), exciting 18 hole match between the LIV Tour ‘Iron Heads’ playing the Grass League ‘Minnesota Muskies’ produced for YouTube is like:

As for watching guys hit the ball 400 yards…it is awesome, but I can watch Rory and Bryson do that on YouTube.

I would rather see Rory and Bryson hit hole in ones with any club in their bag.

Rory did that just yesterday…outside. The camera angle thats caught it is incredible:

Here is a second Irishman Shane Lowery getting one down the street at Pebble Beach:

I could watch shots like this all day.

Change the format, keep the technology at bay.

Golf.com just wrote that our Grass League has staying power. That is pretty cool.

In 2023 , I decided to start investing against the terminally online (have a read) .

There is a place for ‘too much tech’ - in rockets, in robots, in space, in semiconductors and hopefully medicine.

I think we are seeing that it does not apply to sports - save for the tools of degeneracy like side bets, odds and parlays - in that case the more technology the better!
