It is the Jewish New Year starting today. In short:
Praying in synagogue, personal reflection, and hearing the shofar. Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה), literally meaning the “head [of] the year”, is the Jewish New Year. … Rosh Hashanah is a two-day celebration that begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year.
I don’t have anything profound to say, but I do like to use this time to reflect.
