Hockey Night in Phoenix

Good morning everyone.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were in town playing the Coyotes last night and it is a game I do not like to miss as the Leafs play in town just once a year.

The game was fun, but I whiffed large after first intermission as I was chatting up Vince Vaughn and never went for the selfie.  I'm getting soft.

The Coyotes play in this new $30 million, 4,000 seat college stadium built on ASU campus as they figure out whether they stay in Arizona and can cut a deal for a bigger stadium.

I was golfing with my friend Andy last year who owned the Coyotes a few years back and now is just a partial owner and he told me about the new stadium and I begged him to grab Tom and I four seats against the glass.  Watching pro hockey against the glass in a small arena would be electric was our thinking.  The stadium is 10 minutes from our home versus the Glendale arena being an hour.

Andy made the call and so we have the tickets and I have only gone to a few games so far.  Last night I took my friend Ameet visiting from Toronto and my other friends Jim and Will who go back and forth from Phoenix to Toronto.  It was a blast.

For me seeing Mitch Marner and Austin Matthews up that close was really fun.

The Coyotes are not terrible this year and actually beat the Leafs.  My Leafs have been 0-57 in Howard's lifetime for winning a Cup,  so I am used to the losses.

Have a great Friday.
