Hope...Won't Work in the Stock Market, but Politics?

If you own stocks and are deep underwater, you are screwed right now and hoping won’t help. You will need luck and too many things are out of your control.

In politics, I think hope is key. I believe in the overall good of civilization, so I am a believer.

I never have talked politics on this blog, but it’s time to come clean. I am a Goldwater Republican . Barry Goldwater. You can look him up yourself.

I am pro-choice on just about everything (except FriendFeed, CNBC and Mahalo which should just go away). Just call me American I guess. I am pretty anti-religion and pretty strong leaner to spirituality and kharma.

I think both sides of this race have little to say so far and the noise is dilutive and deafening. I think corporations have UNearned our trust and deeply in bed with BOTH sides, so screw arguing on that issue.

I fall back on people I trust in my social network who are way more connected to the conversation and the people than me. In doing so, if I could vote, I would vote for Obama and ‘Joe ‘Colgate/Crest’ Biden. Wierdly, the people I trust in the network I follow are all leaning Republican, but I am fading them this time.

Biden scares me and Obama scares me even more with his economic leanings, but no way that I want a 72 year old man running our country. No way. No way that I can trust this apathetic Republican leadership no matter how far McCain distances himself.

I am hopeful that Obama gets in and comes way more central on his economic policies. American ingenuity just needs better governance, not more taxes and more regulations. I am also hopeful that Obama can surround himself with people that won’t roll over on foreign policy. Both these sound way more possible than going with the Republican party this go around.

Obama in 2008!
