Introducing The New Personalized SparkFin Watchlist
Here’s a cross post from the team at SparkFin. Very excited about how they’re changing up the traditional stock watchlist. -H
The SparkFin app is all about finding compelling investment ideas in the stock market. But it’s also about you. What stocks you are watching. What stocks are on your radar.
So with that in mind, we’ve re-designed the SparkFin Watchlist in order to give you more context and information about the stocks you are interested in tracking.
We’ve also partnered with Nasdaq, the leader in market data, to make sure we’re providing you with the most accurate real-time stock quotes available.
What you will first notice upon opening the new Watchlist is a cleaner, more streamlined look, that tells you at a glance how your stocks are doing for the day.
Right below the header, you will see the overall performance of your list as well as the performance of the best and worst individual stocks.
You can also tap the red or green “pill” of any stock to toggle to an individual stocks’ performance metrics over 1-Day, 3-Months, 6-Months, 1-year, or “since added” to your list.
And of course, the list can be sorted by tapping the header in the symbol, last, or performance column.
Next to each symbol you’ll also see a quick snapshot of the day’s chart in relation to its previous close (indicated by a dashed horizontal line).
If you want to dive a bit deeper, tap any individual stock – are you sensing a theme here – to go to the expanded view.
In this view, you will see notifications that have been triggered for the stock, including;
Hitting a new 52-week high
Monster volume (3x normal)
Stock is up more than 5%
Stock is down more than 5%
Scrolling down gives you the stock’s chart as well fundamental data, which includes;
52-Week High/Low
Volume
Avg Volume
Market Capitalization
EPS (ttm)
P/E Ratio
Avg P/E
The chart can also be toggled between time frames by – you guessed it – tapping.
Finally, at the bottom of the scroll you’ll see “tidbits” – specific info drawn from over 100 different data points – designed to give you more context on what is happening specifically in the chosen stock.
We hope you enjoy the redesigned Watchlist and look forward to your feedback – both good and bad – so we can continue to improve SparkFin in order to make it your daily stock market habit.
