Is My Portfolio Degenerate Enough?

Is my portfolio degenerate enough?

The fact that I am typing this means this has to be the top, so don’t @ me.

I read this as I was drinking my coffee just now…

I mostly agree with Avichal and we are seeing this close up in the legal industry.

In 2019, my partner Gary led a seed round (Social Leverage fund 3) in Marble Law which is a fully digital law firm that is powered by Flare (a software they built). They have now raised over $200 million and nearing $100 million in annual sales. I was visiting with Rami the CEO a few weeks ago in their Phoenix office and going through their processes and how AI is helping them solve all kinds of paperwork flows and costs for the company and the clients. It is impressive.

Jeff Park, who I have chatted with re his ideas of a ‘radical portfolio’ and works at Bitwise had this to say on Avichal’s tweet:

I have been saying what Jeff has been saying for a couple of decades here…learn the language of markets, investing and speculation. Today, you can learn it at fractions of the cost, all the while doing it with fractional amounts of real dollars with almost no commissions.

As I continue to invest in my ‘degenerate economy index’, (the link has been on and off with the provider the last few days), I may not be thinking radically enough as Jeff ascribes.

Just something to think about.
