Life Is Too Short
Life is too short.
I am lucky that I really know and feel this. It keeps me out of long and deep ruts… at least so far.
Being 60 years old would be horrible in most any previous era so I am even more aware of the great moments and of the great days when I have them or when the kids or Ellen have them.
I was reminded of this old saying again yesterday.
The other day in Phoenix a young man named Andrew McLaren was killed while cycling by a man in a car that had a stroke. It sounds like just a tragic accident.
I cycle in Phoenix and Paradise Valley and Scottsdale a few times a week. I know the risks, but I do it. This one hits close to home. Just a tragedy and no one from my understanding to really blame.
Many of my friends have kids that know Andrew. Andrew was a great golfer and two time winner of the Grass Clippings Open that we are holding again this Thursday and Friday.
Then Grass Clippings team shared the news and the note today in an email:
Sadly, we have all experienced tragedy, some more horrible than others.
For me it is a reminder to keep it all in perspective.
