Momentum Monday...Down Goes Facebook....Down Goes Facebook...

Facebook ($FB) had its official IPO on Friday, but it felt like a secondary offering….screw that…it felt like a series Q 1999 offering. It disappointed most of the people who hoped for a quick and profitable flip. There are no sure things in the markets. The obvious rarely happens, the unexpected constantly occurs.

Ivan tells me his mom in Bulgaria was calling him to ask about the IPO. For reference, their last great IPO was a potato and yogurt import/export rollup (I kid the Bulgarians).

I was shocked that so many people that rarely trade or invest had easy allocations to shares form their broker. If I had really cared about the IPO, or had an account with an actual broker, it would have been more obvious how nasty this would have gotten so quickly. You used to have to be a good client to get shares.

In the end, greed happens.

Ivan and I take a look at some of the StockTwits 50 stocks that are surviving the market storm and are hovering near multi-year highs.

Enjoy!
