From Muskoka With Love

Good morning from Muskoka.

Ellen and I are spending a few days with my oldest pal and cousin Adam and his wife Deena.

Here is a view from the dining room this morning as I write, overlooking Lake Joseph…

Adam is an amazing builder in Toronto and like all my friends I grew up with has long loved Muskoka. He has just finished renovating his cottage and it is spectacular. Here is one view:

I grew up lucky to have a summer home in Muskoka (actually an island called Cheynemac) and Adam was with me when we sent our first family weekend back at the cottage in 1975. My next ten summers were spent up in Muskoka with all my friends fishing, skiing, swimming etc.

Today I am lucky to have Rob and Adam invite me to theirs each summer.

Muskoka is pretty much the same today as 1975, other than bigger cottages, crazy powerful and expensive ski/surf boats and wifi.

We have one more day of chill and head back to Coronado tomorrow.
