Social Leverage Palooza Number 15

Good morning…

I am pushing off Momentum Monday for a day to share some photos from our weekend Social Leverage LP and Founder event.

For the last 15 years we have gathered with founders and LP’s of our four seed funds to network, share ideas, hear pitches, get feedback and talk strategy.

The only twist in all the years happens today as we host 15 emerging managers from our very first emerging manager fund.

In my opening presentation I discussed the trends and themes that we have been focused on the last few years and continue to believe will help us continue to deliver outsized returns for our LP’s which include wealthtech, healthcare, the affluent economy and the ‘degenerate economy’.

This morning Steve Hilton and I are doing a fireside chat to talk about his 35 years as founder, CEO of Meritage Homes in Phoenix. Meritage Homes is a $4 billion company today.

Meritage Homes Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, designs and builds single-family attached and detached homes in the United States. The company operates through two segments, Homebuilding and Financial Services. It acquires and develops land; and constructs, markets, and sells homes for first-time and first move-up buyers in Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. The company also offers title and escrow, mortgage, title insurance, and closing/settlement services to its homebuyers.

Yesterday, I did a fireside chat with Greg Garrabrants the CEO of Axos Bank which everyone really enjoyed. Greg got the biggest laugh of the day as he explained crypto custody and the setbacks to the banking industry by the ‘chubby vegan’ (Sam Bankman).

We also played 20 minutes from the fully edited and ready financial documentary I helped produce titled ‘The is Not Financial Advice’. Creator and director Chris Temple joined me for the showing and discussion. He has created a masterpiece financial documentary capturing the fear and greed of this latest investing boom and bust.

Ok..a few photos…
