Sunday Reads, Watches and Listens - Interest Rates Matter, The Age of AI Has Begun and Daisy Jones & The Six Was Excellent

Happy Sunday.

I have had a couple great rides this weekend with my friend Nave, the co-founder of DSTNC.com who is in town for our yearly LP/founder event.

Today, the event gets going more formally with company presentations which is my favorite part. I love seeing the interaction of founders and our LP’s.

Before I head off for the day, I put together some of my fave reads and listens and a must new watch. The ‘must’ new watch is Amazon Studio’s ‘Daisy & The Six’ which is a book that my friend Matthew Milam brought to life at Amazon. I met Matthew through my blog as he has been a reader and podcast listener.

He always takes my calls and emails to pitch show ideas. Yesterday over drinks I pitched him a show about me titled ‘Empty Nest Euphoria’ which is just a show about me enjoying life without my kids at home! We have become good friends and I was both nervous to watch (in case I did not like it) and now thrilled for Matthew because it was great. Ellen, and I binge watched it and Rachel also loved it. Riley Keough plays Daisy and was fantastic. I did not know until yesterday that Riley is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and daughter of Lisa Marie. Give it a watch.

For listens this week, I enjoyed Avi Goldfarb on the Economic impact of AI.

John Favreau was on Smartless and it was really a fun interview. The guy is a legend.

Finally, my friend Barry Ritholtz (he is at our event this weekend) talks quant with Cliff Asness who runs $100 billion. I had Barry on my ‘Panic’ podcast this week (airing in a few weeks) and he said this is one of his favorite interviews.

Not to be grim, but the continued persistence of high interest rates is affecting the mood of the country in not so good ways…I give you house buying modd:
