My Superpowers and Life in My 50’s

A couple of ‘superpowers’ caught my attention today.

The first was from Elan Gale who said:

My superpower is that I can hold a grudge FOREVER

The other was from Cliff Asness (The Assman!):

Having, and sticking to, a true long term perspective is the closest you can come to possessing an investing super power.

I love Elan. He’s insane. I say that without having ever met him. I really do hold a grudge forever, much like Elan and Trump. Maybe it’s because of my ADD or maybe it’s because I am a human being, but I will go to my grave with a few serious grudges no matter how well I settle the score.

As for Cliff’s superpower which is investing focused, I am all in. I started my blog 11 years ago to help me get this superpower. I moved a lot of my assets and time to early stage investing because it helped me keep a long-term perspective. I want my kids to have this superpower.

Knowing all I know today, I wish I was 40 of course, but I am enjoying life in my 50’s.

Other than the age spots on my hand, the fact that I need magnifying glasses from Walgreens to see my iPad, the poor sleep, bad jaw, big nose, the mole, a constantly sore left knee and my ugly toes, I am relatively healthy.

Yesterday for instance, I celebrated Dow 20,000 with my best friend, the chocolate dipped cone from Dairy Queen:

I can’t run fast, jump high or lift much, but I am ok with my sweet tooth and two superpowers.
