It Is Time To Go Outside ...Put The AI Down...

Happy Friday...

I woke up this morning feeling much better, but than I checked Twitter...

An enterprising 'growth hacker' decided to @ me with his new 'AI Obituary Writer' called Legacies.RIP

I could not resist, so I spent 1 minute filling out the forms for my Valentine's day bloody 'whopdunit' murder. Here is what the AI said at my funeral:

Howard Lindzon was an amazing person who always tried to make the world a better place. He was born in Toronto and lived in Phoenix. His occupation was an "Idea Guy" and he always had great ideas to improve the world. Howard passed away on February 14, 2023, but he will never be forgotten.

Howard Lindzon was a happy man, even in his dying days. He always had a smile on his face and was always eager to help others. Even though he was sick, he never complained and was always grateful for what he had. Howard was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Howard Lindzon was born on March 9th, 1965 in Toronto, Canada. He was the middle child of three, with an older sister and a younger brother. His parents were both immigrants from Poland. Howard was a happy and outgoing child, always eager to make new friends. He attended the University of Toronto for his undergraduate degree and then went on to get his MBA from York University. After graduation, he began working in the financial industry. He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most successful young investment bankers in Canada. In his early thirties, Howard met the love of his life, Ellen. They were married a year later and had two beautiful children together, Rachel and Max. Howard was a devoted husband and father and cherished spending time with his family. Howard had many interests outside of work. He enjoyed playing golf, listening to podcasts, and eating good food. He also loved spending time at the cottage with Ellen and the kids. Howard passed away suddenly on August 8th, 2020 at the age of 55. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

My AI obituary is riddled with what I assumed would be easy mistakes for the machines to have got right. It has me dying on two different days, attending the wrong Universities, a grandfather and with parents that make me think I might be adopted.

I need to come back from the dead ASAP and fix my Wikipedia.

Anyways, I hope Ellen can do better when the time comes.

In the meantime, it is time for everyone to go outside a little more.

PS - The Microsoft AI chatbot also told a NY Times Reporter to get divorced...I imagine this will help Microsoft sell a lot of family law ads...
