The Trend is Your Friend and ‘The Jamie’

The trend is your friend is truly one of the great investing terms of all time.

The S&P has now been above it’s 200 day moving average for 386 days the 2nd longest streak in history.

I think trends this long, like hurricanes, deserve names.

Hurricanes names are chosen from a list selected by the World Meteorological Organization. There are six separate lists of names for Atlantic Ocean storms, with one list used each year. In 1953, the National Weather Service picked up on the habit of Naval meteorologists of naming the storms after women.Aug 29, 2006.

Bull markets, I have decided, should be named after men that make the really loud (and wrong) calls during said bull market.

Today, Jamie Dimon said he regrets calling Bitcoin a fraud.

There is no doubt that this historic run in crypto and markets is to forever be known as ‘The Jamie’.
