Wall Street Bound

Yesterday, Stocktwits got behind Wall Street Bound. Wall Street Bound is an education and training non-profit organization founded by Troy Prince with a mission to create a pathway for talented urban youth to access and build successful careers in trading, investing and financial services.

Last year I received an email (I believe it was a cold email) from Troy Prince (a 20 year Wall Street veteran) and I was intrigued by his idea. We met for bagels and coffee and chatted about his vision. I thought I could help spread the good word and get some people excited.

My buddy Phil Pearlman who runs Stocktwits content and community met with Troy recently and knew immediately that Stocktwits could take the lead and announced their pledge yesterday. They are asking the community to help with another pledge of $10,000 and you can contribute here if you like.

Ellen and I will also be supporting personally.

As Phil says:

This is a critical initiative, addressing the needs of a large and under-represented population within the finance industry. NOW is the time to support this organization, and it is our goal to help assure WSB’s resounding success!

Stocktwits will promote Wall Street Bound across our large and growing media platforms. We will help them fundraise and find talent who might benefit from the program. We will leverage our network of seasoned market participants and finance professionals who can directly support the cause.

If you can mentor or provide internships or junior positions at your firm, you can connect with Troy at Wall Street Bound HERE. Or you can contact us at [email protected].
