The Wealth Management OS (Operating System)
Good morning.
My partner Matt Ober who spent years at Bloomberg, Worldquant and Thirdpoint has started his own blog on Beehiiv called ‘The Rollup’ (free to sign up) which covers all things fintech, wealthtech and wealth management. He also shares a lot of his thoughts on the subjects on LinkedIn.
From Matt in his first post:
Why now? I started writing on Linkedin a few months back and the engagement and feedback have been very positive. As someone who worked in the hedge fund space for many years, I always stayed off of social platforms and never had a chance to produce content. Writing is a great way for me to interact with people who have shared interests and a great way for me to openly think about the different opportunities we are seeing while investing at Social Leverage. I am going to try to write on a weekly basis. Sometimes more often, sometimes less. I’m excited to leverage Beehiiv as not only is Social Leverage an investor, but I keep hearing such amazing feedback.
What’s with the name "The Rollup?” Rollup has many meanings. For one, I am fascinated by the rollup investment opportunity which I have written about on Linkedin here and I also see this newsletter as a place where I will rollup my thoughts on fintech, investments, past experiences & stories, building companies, technology, and more. I asked a good friend of mine, “What should I call my newsletter”, and without hesitation, he said “The Rollup”. It has so many meanings and fits so perfectly.
Both Matt and I have been spending a lot of time talking with and investing in founders in the wealth management and wealthtech space. Matt has been particularly focused of late on some rollup ideas and the idea of a ‘Wealth Management OS' which Matt details in his post.
We have a series of investments over the years that should benefit from the explosion of AI and lead to the offering of family-office like services and intelligence for a much large audience.
