What's Happening in my little world

Despite another big rally Monday, leaders continue to fall by the wayside. This morning it is UPS. Despite $70 oil and rising rates, this stock held strong, UNTIL this morning. They missed. I have been short for a week and it is being hammered this morning – losing $9 billion in market cap . I will just stay with this one and Fedex for a little while. I hope Michael at Trader Mike stayed short his Expeditor’s. I rarely make money shorting so there is definately underlying trouble.

Tech and drugs are strong – the weakest stocks – so don’t confuse these strong rallies with a bull market.

Bloomberg is reporting that Mr. Bow tie – Jim Rogers is moving from Manhattan to China to get RICHER . Could also be running away from the revco fiasco :)

Yahoo was up 4 percent yesterday – Fred should be happy with his good paired trade start in the Lindzon trade race . My Apple will smoke his Yahoo and as bad as Time warner is, the downside won’t match the 25 percent already taken out of Netflix.

Is Ebay going out of business? The stock was up 3 percent today and is still down nearly 70 percent from it’s high last year. Thank goodness they paid cash for Rent.com or I would be pissed. Thanks Scott! The great Google shadow has really hurt both Yahoo and Google.

Thanks goodness I pressented the buy case for Dell from the “great one” Bill Cara last week as I was posting my 2 cents on the problems at Dell at the bottom. I had a nice chat with him in downtown Toronto yesterday and as always came away with some great market insights.

TraderMike updates his cool stock site with WordPress software. Guy just follows my lead – what can I say!
