Writing Slump - Does It Mean Anything?

Good morning from New York.

I flew into La Guardia from Toronto for the first time and La Guardia is great. Coming from the west, I never get to choose La Guardia.

I had fun last night walking around Soho with Rachel and grabbing some sushi at a favorite spot. Cash only.

This summer has been my least active/prolific since I started this blog/newsletter in 2005. I think I should care, but only this week have I thought much about it.

My habit is to write in the morning and writing a daily post would take me between 15 mins and two hours. For years I would hit publish by 6:30 am PST.

The main reason for the fall off is I sleep in past 6 am pst most days. Unfortunately, the new sleep hours have not improved how rested I feel and that’s something I have to take more seriously.

For decades, I would jump out of bed at 5 am. I don’t think that extra hour is coming back because I like my nightime media routine.

I still follow and check the markets immediately when I wake, but because I mostly direct index, I don’t have the same intensity. I like that part.

The extra email other work I have and do as CEO of Stocktwits the last year plus since I returned also fills up my early mornings. I don’t see that changing, because the first three hours of the day are my most productive.

So for now, I am just going to keep going with the flow and hopefully settle into a new workflow that inspires me to write here more regularly.

Have a great day.
