Shana Tova
Good evening everyone and shana tova.
What does shana tova mean?
Specifically during Rosh Hashanah — one of the most important days on the Jewish calendar — it's appropriate to wish people of the Jewish faith a particular greeting: Shana Tova! This popular phrase means "happy new year" and directly translates to "good new year" in Hebrew.
I am hopeful/optimistic that this year will be better than last for Israel.
I was last in Israel in September 2023, just a few weeks before the October 7th massacre. I had such a great time as alway..
As always, I shared the highlights and some pics…
Tel Aviv is my favorite city. I have never felt afraid in Israel which is one of the wonders of the tiny country…a country surrounded by enemies.
Flash forward a year and my friends in Tel Aviv were sending me photos from bomb shelters once again.
Last night in Jaffa, a 20 min walk down the beach from my hotel and a place where I often walked to for meals and to meet friends, this happened:
Horrifying, senseless and sad.
The good news is Israeli’s are not scared.
They will continue to go on living.
Worse for their enemies, their guard is up.
My daughter Rachel pinged me that she wants to move to Israel. I think that would be great.
I am looking forward to going with her soon.
Most importantly, the last year is a reminder to live.
Have a great Jewish new year.
